Morocco Mountain Bike Route

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL IN FEZ

Transfer from the airport to the medina of Fez, where we will have a local guide who will give us a tour.

80km transfer to the town of Ifrane (known as the second Switzerland).

DAY 2 – IFRANE – ER-RACHIDIA 55 KM

We'll set off along tracks towards the cedar forest and the Azroud forest. There, we can enjoy the scenery and nature of these forests, where the giant pines and wild monkeys we might see along the way are particularly noteworthy. We'll then reach the transfer point that will take us to Er-Rachidia, where we'll spend the night.

Difficulty: Easy

Positive elevation gain: 750 m

Negative elevation change: 535 m

Hotel: Kasbah Aferdou

DAY 3 – ER-RACHIDIA – ERFOUD 70 KM

We will begin pedaling, leaving the forests to enter the first plains of the desert, where we will find some tongues of sand of a maximum of about 50 m.

We'll visit the mummy monument in the middle of the desert and also a nomadic village. (Always on a dirt track)

Difficulty: Easy

Positive elevation gain: 240 m

Negative elevation change: 570 m

DAY 5 – MERZOUGA – MERZOUGA 50 KM

Day loop around the Erg Chebbi dunes. Optional: for those who don't want to cycle, there are several activities available, such as staying at the hotel, renting buggies, quads, etc.

Difficulty: Medium

Hotel: Tomboctou

DÍA 6 – MERZOUGA – ALNIF – TODRA 60 KM

There we will begin our route towards the Portuguese prison, with a stop to visit it. We will continue cycling, passing through several villages and oases until we reach kilometer 60, where a transfer will pick us up for the spectacular Todra Gorge (1.5 to 2 hours transfer time).

Difficulty: Easy

Positive elevation gain: 450 m

Negative elevation change: 300 m

Hotel: subject to availability, always the same category as the other hotels

DAY 7 – TODRA – DADES 60 KM

A fast track through the Todra Gorge leads to Dades. A spectacular route cycling along the cliffs. From there, we'll take a 5-hour transfer to Marrakech. We'll have dinner in Jemaa el-Fna square (the final dinner of the trip).

Difficulty: Medium-Easy

Positive elevation gain: 450 m

Negative elevation change: 350 m
